Building Assets of People, Families & Communities

Overview | By Topic | By Location

Since 2003, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund has invested a portion of its grant dollars in initiatives to build the assets of vulnerable people in the Fund’s five core communities: Wilmington, Delaware; Richmond and the Northern Neck in Virginia; and Jacksonville and Port St. Joe, Florida.

To further this work, the Fund in 2006 brought together teams of individuals from each of the five communities to talk about their needs, to learn about asset building strategies from experts in the field, and to explore ways that the team members might lead productive work and bring about changes in their communities.

In fall 2008, the teams reconvened to share their progress with each other and continue learning, from each other and from professionals with specialized skills.

The resources from these two convenings are housed here. To learn about individual community work, click on the community in the map ABOVE. To learn more about a particular topics, click on the subject button BELOW.
