David Miller is a business and civic leader who has helped shape pivotal decisions in Jacksonville. As co-founder of Brightway Insurance, he helped build one of the nation’s largest independent property and casualty insurance retailers. He is an inductee into the First Coast Business Hall of Fame.

Miller co-founded OurJax to advocate for transparency, accountability, and local control during the proposed sale of JEA. As the Emerald Trail’s lead investor and Co-Champion, he helped establish its early financial backing and civic support. His work with LIFT JAX, including board service, has advanced efforts to expand prosperity on Jacksonville’s Eastside.

Through his philanthropy, Miller combines financial commitment with strategic counsel to strengthen organizations and extend their impact. He also mentors executives and young leaders, helping them sharpen their judgment and effectiveness.

Miller currently chairs the Jacksonville Civic Council Foundation board and serves as a trustee of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. His board and advisory service has included the Telluride Science Research Center, Jacksonville Civic Council, Leadership Jacksonville, JAX Chamber, OneJax, and the Jewish Community Alliance, where he served as president. He also founded the Together Strong Community Fund, a completed initiative that confronted antisemitism and other forms of hate while promoting understanding across the community.

His tenure as a trustee of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund began in 2024.
