At their November meeting, the trustees of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund approved grants supporting a college program targeting female veterans, programs to expand services for rural residents of the Northern Neck of Virginia and a multimedia program focusing on Florida history. The 24 grants awarded totaled $1.3 million and support organizations from California to Delaware, Florida to Missouri.
Grants awarded included:
Beebe Medical Center, Wilmington, Delaware, $31,200 to pilot a house-call program providing home visits to patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
St. Joseph on the Brandywine, Greenville, Delaware, $11,700 to help the church provide transitional housing support for women and children.
St. Michael’s School and Nursery, Wilmington, Delaware, $100,000 to provide operating support during implementation of a new strategic plan.
Wilmington Senior Center, Wilmington, Delaware, $60,750 to expand services through the Center’s Grandparent Resource Center.
Catholic Charities Bureau, Jacksonville, Florida, $39,820 to support a technology upgrade.
Family Foundations of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, $70,000 to provide operating support during strategic realignment.
Florida Historical Society, Cocoa, Florida, $50,000 to continue support for Florida Frontiers, a multi-media outreach celebrating Florida history.
Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida, $74,765 to purchase three commercial grade generators to protect essential operations.
Long Avenue Baptist Church, Port St. Joe, Florida, $23,882 to replace church windows.
Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church, Port St. Joe, Florida, $39,525 to support development of a community development corporation for Port St. Joe.

Stetson University, DeLand, Florida, $79,451 to support the Stetson Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience.

Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia, $86,550 to implement a pilot teacher preparation and mentoring program.
Diocese of Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, $15,000 to upgrade a parish house allowing continued use by Red Cliff Tribal members.
Meredith College, Raleigh, North Carolina, $43,300 to support an interdisciplinary summer undergraduate program.
